FAQ
How do I cut an odd corner that is not 90°?
Measure the actual corner angle with a protractor or angle finder, enter it, and cut each piece at half the difference from 180°. The calculator gives the exact setting — a 92° corner needs 44° cuts, not 45°.
Why is my miter joint open on the inside?
Usually the corner angle was measured wrong or the pieces were cut at complementary-but-opposite settings. Recut one piece with the saw a hair steeper; test on scrap before cutting stock.
What about crown molding?
Crown molding sits at a spring angle against wall and ceiling, so the cut is compound (miter + bevel). This calculator covers flat miters; for crown, use the wall-corner mode with the measured angle and your saw's crown-nesting method.
